Platinum Samples has released Boudoir, a precision wah pedal plugin with a full amp and cabinet chain behind it, for macOS and Windows in AU, VST3 and AAX formats.
The wah is built from measurements of two classic wahs, each captured at positions across its entire travel – resonant frequency, Q and the shape of the response. The Inductor control morphs from one to the other, from the smooth, vintage BUD voicing to the broader, more aggressive CRY, with sweep range, shape and feel controls, a MAGNETO voicing, a constant-gain option and a live frequency response display.
Behind the wah are one or two Neural Amp Modeler slots, in parallel or in series, each with two cabinet IRs, followed by a tempo-synced delay (before or after the amps) and a three-mode tone EQ. Each section powers off independently, gain-matched, so Boudoir works as a wah-only pedal, an amp-only plugin or the full rig.
Boudoir analyses every NAM capture as it enters the library and drives every model from a fixed internal reference, so switching amps changes the tone rather than the volume – and presets built on one system drive the models the same way on another.
Boudoir is Powered by TONE3000: users can search the TONE3000 catalog of community NAM captures and impulse responses from inside the plugin, audition models live through their own wah and chain before importing them, and add them to their local library. A free TONE3000 account is required for the integrated catalog.
