DWP has released Rift, a glitch and effects performance plug-in for macOS and Windows.
Rift combines an independent single-track plug-in workflow with a shared multi-track workspace for Ableton Live with Max for Live.
Users can slide between four performance controls per track, latch a groove with Lock, and explore variations with Random. Controls provide beat, length, pitch, portamento, reverse probability, pan and gain. Glitch mode repeats captured audio, while FX Only keeps the incoming audio flowing through timed effects.
Features include:
- Up to four effects in a chain, with eight effect snapshots per track.
- Four independent groups in the Max for Live workspace, with track names and colors following the Live set.
- Fade, offset, input/output gain, dry/wet mix, Mix Pan and pan LFO controls.
- Track, Controls and Effects presets, plus host automation.
- Optional Rift Remote Android app for touch control over a trusted local network.
Pricing & Availability:
Rift is available for $59 for macOS and Windows VST3, AAX and Audio Unit.
The macOS installer supports Intel and Apple Silicon. The included shared multi-track device requires Ableton Live with Max for Live; independent plug-in use does not require Max for Live.
Rift Remote is available as a direct, signed APK download for Android 7.0 or later on ARM64 devices. It controls the Max for Live workflow, not independent single-track instances.
