discoDSP has released Blub, a modular tracker for macOS now in public beta, and Roboto, a free singing voice synthesizer. WavePrompt adds a Windows version and LoRA support, Retromulator adds a Hammond B3 organ core, and Bliss adds disk streaming.
Blub (Beta)
Blub is a modular tracker for macOS in the style of Jeskola Buzz. AU and VST3 plugins and built-in machines are placed on a canvas, wired with cables and played from tracker patterns and a song sequence. Blub is in public beta.
Roboto 1.2
Roboto is a new free singing voice synthesizer. Write a melody in the piano roll, type a word on each note and Roboto sings it. The voice is synthesized with no samples:
- Sings in English, German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Russian, Finnish and Swedish.
- Ten Classic voices from a second formant engine with the sound of 1990s singing software.
- Talk box mode, where a plucked string replaces the voice and the mouth shapes it.
- MIDI, karaoke MIDI, UltraStar, LRC and SRT import, AAC and video export.
- Phrases start on the exact sample of a MIDI key, and keys on MIDI channel 2 change the sung pitch live with an adjustable Glide.
Roboto is free and runs as a plugin or standalone on macOS, Windows, Linux, iPhone and iPad.
WavePrompt 1.1
WavePrompt generates loops, vocal phrases and full songs from a text prompt with the YuE2 music model, running locally with no cloud and no account:
- Windows version for PCs with NVIDIA or Intel Arc graphics.
- LoRA support: Push strengthens the chosen genre or voice with a LoRA trained on it, and Import LoRA adds YuE2 LoRAs from Hugging Face, a download link or a .safetensors file.
- Arranged instrumentals plan an intro, verses, choruses and an outro before rendering.
- Import Memo turns a hummed or sung recording into a melody with matching tempo and key.
- Vocals follow the chosen key and the chords of the backing, and lyric checks take seconds instead of minutes.
WavePrompt is free for Mac and Windows.
Retromulator 1.10
Retromulator runs classic hardware synthesizers from their original firmware or circuit models, now with sixteen cores:
- New OpenB3 core: Hammond B3 organ with Leslie speaker, based on setBfree, with drawbars, percussion, vibrato and chorus, overdrive, reverb, three Leslie cabinets and a keyboard split.
- Matrix-1000 voice model reworked from the schematic, with oscillator sync, DAC ranges, VCA curves and filter following the hardware.
- DX7 controller setup for mod wheel, breath, foot and aftertouch.
Discovery Pro 9.5
- Zoom window for the Gate and Mod sequencers with curve and bipolar modes, an OSC1+2 pitch destination and tempo based note divisions.
- Nordic filter rebuilt from the Nord Lead 2X hardware, running the NL2 filter equations at the 98.2 kHz hardware clock.
- All 105 factory banks leveled to a consistent loudness.
- Zone navigation in Percussion Mode and fixed filter keyboard tracking.
Bliss 3.28
- Disk streaming for programs over 256 MB, reading samples straight from gig and SF2 files, NKI monoliths and DecentSampler libraries.
- Identical samples are stored once, and Akai ISO programs load on demand.
- Per-slice loops, a Spectral waveform view and new paste and loop tools in the sample editor.
Vertigo 5.5
- Wave library built from sample collections already on the computer, including Logic Pro Alchemy, Bliss libraries and the Discovery Pro and Corona wave banks.
- Automatic sustain loops for waves without loop points, and wave analysis in the background.
