Benjamin Guerrero releases ResoPlate Physically Modeled Plate Reverb and updates Sympiano to v1.0.7

Benjamin Guerrero has released ResoPlate, a physically modeled plate reverb plugin, and updated the free Sympiano to v1.0.7.

ResoPlate

ResoPlate is a multi-plate reverb for macOS and Windows that models metal plates from physics in real time rather than using impulse responses. It is the first paid plug-in under the developer’s new Reso Audio name.

ResoPlate solves four independent plates, each a modal resonator tuned by its material and size. Changing the metal or the dimensions retunes every mode in the tail as it rings.

Key features:

  • Four plates at once, each with its own size, material and decay.
  • Six plate metals, with steel as the reference.
  • Calibrated decay and a single Air control for long, natural high frequencies.
  • Pitch bend and mod wheel control of the plate.
  • Sidechain input with an envelope follower that moves the tail in time with the track.
  • Live output spectrum analyzer and eight skins.

Pricing & Availability

ResoPlate is available now for macOS 11 or later (Audio Unit, VST3, standalone; Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10 or later (VST3, standalone; x64 and Arm64). The introductory price is USD 39 until October 31, 2026, then USD 59.

The license is perpetual, includes all 1.x updates, and covers both platforms. Students and educators receive 40% off the regular price. A full-featured demo is available with no time limit; its output briefly fades to silence at intervals.

Sympiano

The developer has also updated Sympiano, its free piano string-resonance plug-in, to version 1.0.7. Changes since version 1.0.4 include:

  • User presets.
  • Eight selectable skins, with a new Brasswork default.
  • Mac builds load on macOS 11 and later again (earlier builds could fail to load on older macOS in some hosts).
  • Code-signed Windows builds with no extra runtime to install, and a native Windows on Arm build.
  • The editor no longer takes keyboard focus from the host, plus improved MIDI damper handling and state recall.

Sympiano remains free for macOS and Windows, with no account or license key required.
