sonicLAB has released a major upgrade to its Creation spatial synthesizer.
Creation is a spatial sound design tool powered by a gravitational physics engine.
Creation v2 Engine improvements:
- Multi Core threading + GPU assistance. Custom audio voice threads.
- 1000 simultaneous sounding objects on a MacBook Pro M4 is easy. Up to 400 simultaneous objects on Ryzen 3.
- Dynamic voice allocation: voices follow the most audible objects in the swarm, so scenes can grow far beyond the voice count without losing the sounds that matter.
DSP improvements:
- True anti-aliased wavetable oscillator: an 11-level band-limited mip pyramid, built by harmonic analysis at load.
- Cubic (Catmull-Rom) interpolation throughout the wavetable oscillator and the granular engine: greater clarity and harmonic detail.
- Band-limited granular transposition: a four-level mip pyramid.
- Reworked distance model: object distance and stereo width are now independent controls, for a far more convincing sense of depth.
- Updated resonant filter, with automatic loudness compensation as the band narrows.
3D Spatial audio
- 32-bit float, 48kHz stereo WAV export.
- 3rd-order Ambisonic export — 16 channels WAV, AmbiX format.
Non-realtime Disk Recording
- Creation V2 addresses up to 9999 objects. The new Non-realtime disk recording captures audio and video in full detail, sample-locked.
Availability:
Existing users of Creation v1.4 can upgrade to v2 by purchasing the upgrade license on sonicLAB store. The upgrade price is £19.
Creation v2 costs £95 until September 2nd (Reg. £115).
Creation v2 bundle contains the Creation v2 standalone app and the CreationRemote VST3 and AU plugin which remotely controls the application in a DAW.
