remaincalm has released its first new product for 2026, Sunfish, a hybrid wavetable/VA instrument.
The Sydney-based boutique software company got its start in 2008 with experimental sound tools, some of which ship as part of the Cockos REAPER DAW and Mod Audio platforms, and relaunched with a line of hand-tuned plugins in 2025.
Sunfish, in development since 2018, is inspired by 1980s flagship synthesizers like the Korg Trident and Arp Quadra.
To simplify use, Sunfish includes a feature called “The Morpher”, which allows users to easily scrub through timbres. Sunfish incorporates modeled circuits from obscure home organs, string synths, and chiptune gear, and has been optimized for retro bass and pad sounds.
Pricing & Availability
Sunfish is available now in VST3, AU, and AAX formats for macOS and Windows.
Sunfish’s regular RRP is $49, but as an introductory offer, remaincalm’s entire product range has been discounted to $25 for a limited time.
Additionally, remaincalm’s plugins have been updated with new features and performance improvements, such as freely-scalable UIs.
