Elisa Bee

This week’s top mixes include Bwana live from Fabric, Elisa Bee’s Fresh Kicks, Special Request’s Belief System and DJ Minx’s bumping Detroit house.

Bwana Live in Room 1. The latest AUSCAST from Aus Music features a mix taken from producer Bwana, whose records have been released via Aus and LuckyMe, at his recent gig opening at Fabric’s Room 1. He begins with classic chillout room tracks, before increasing the intensity and testing his own unreleased material, ending on his favourite breaks. Stream above.

Elisa Bee’s Fresh Kicks. Esteemed underground dance label Unknown To The Unknown’s latest signing, Milan-native Elisa Bee “drops a punchy, high energy mix” of ice-cold dancefloor techno for the label’s Fresh Kicks series, celebrating the release of her new Mind Game EP full of “6 ultra-magical techno dj tool kutz”. Stream above.

Special Request’s Belief System. With his new Belief System LP out this month under his Special Request alias, Paul Woolford contributes a Dekmantel podcast. It’s an “unpredictable roller coaster that veers from sparkly New York disco through to haunted beats, twisted electro and monstrous techno”. Stream and download above.

DJ Minx’s Bumping Detroit House. “My thoughts on this mix were: I’m goin’ in and lettin’ loose. Period.” Jennifer Witcher, aka DJ Minx, describes her RA podcast, which gets the party rolling with tracks packed full of disco and soul samples, then onto deep house warmth and heads-down techno influences, all underpinned by her trademark bumping grooves. Off the Grid with Leisure System. Irregular dance music from the quarterly party at Berghain and Panorama Bar, Leisure System, whose co-founder Barker selects an hour’s worth of brand new non-4/4 techno sounds from Tenebre, Aquarian, Deapmash, Amandra, Special Request, Tim Xavier, Second Storey and more.
