dBaton has released CUE, a plugin that solves an everyday problem in remote work: getting someone who isn’t in the room to actually hear what is coming out of your DAW.
They say:
Until now the options were all bad ones. Bounce a file, upload it, and wait a day for notes. Share your screen on a video call, where the audio arrives compressed and processed into something nobody can judge a mix on. Or ask the other person to install software — and become their tech support.
CUE aims to replace much of that with a link. Put the plugin on your master bus, press start, and send the link however you already talk to that person: email, a message, whatever they will actually open. A user on the other end clicks it and hears your session live in their browser. Nothing to install, no account to create, and up to 8 people can listen at once, so the director, the editor and the producer all hear the same pass.
CUE is also deliberately not a subscription. Tools in this category are normally rented by the month, for as long as you keep using them. CUE is persistent license, with all v1.x updates included. There is also a rent-to-own model of sixteen monthly payments after which the licence is yours. Months do not have to be consecutive.
Pricing & Availability
CUE runs on macOS 13+ and Windows 10+ in VST3, AU and AAX. €199/$199 one-time, or €12.50/month rent-to-own with a 14-day free trial.
