Aide Audio has released GE-1 Gravity Engine, an effect plugin built for bass and low-frequency instruments that pairs a one-knob tilt EQ with automatic kick-triggered spectral ducking.
How It Works
Press LEARN and play a short bass phrase the way you actually play it. GE-1 analyses the signal in real time, finds the pivot frequency from its spectral centroid, and configures the sub-cut high-pass, side-chain threshold and ratio, gain reference, and kick phase alignment automatically. A single Gravity knob then tilts the low and high bands around that pivot — clockwise for weight, counter-clockwise for definition — while a bass-presence-gated ducking engine carves the bass only where it collides with the kick, keeping both audible without losing the low end’s centre of gravity.
GE-1 also includes multi-kick aggregation (up to four kicks per group, four groups), dual side-chain routing (DAW bus or shared-memory from a separate kick instance), a 20–100 Hz sub-cut with click-free crossfade, a 4x-oversampled true-peak safety limiter, and a real-time analyzer overlaying input, output, EQ curve and kick spectrum.
