Spongefork has released ShadowTag v2.2.1, an update to the free audio metadata editor for macOS that adds Spot to Timeline, which sends files from a ShadowTag playlist directly onto the timeline of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere; FCPXML export and copy for Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and DaVinci Resolve; and other improvements.
Spot To Timeline
Spot to Timeline places the selected files at the playhead or edit cursor of Pro Tools, Logic Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or Adobe Premiere, stacked on separate tracks or end to end. A selection in ShadowTag’s editor arrives as in and out points, with the rest of the file kept as handles. Files are referenced in place; only pending edits, video, and sample rates Pro Tools won’t import are rendered first.
Each target can instead convert files on the way, to a chosen format, sample rate, bit depth, and channel count, using the same options as ShadowTag’s Soundpack export. Spots run from the Tools menu or a Spot button on the transport, and targets are chosen in Spot Settings.
Requirements: the target application running with a session open; DaVinci Resolve Studio; Final Cut Pro 12.3 or later; Adobe Premiere 26.3 or later with the free Spongefork Spot UXP plugin, installed from ShadowTag’s Spot Settings.
FCPXML Export
File > Export > FCPXML writes a selection or playlist as a project that Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, and DaVinci Resolve import, with each file on its own lane. Copy > FCPXML puts the selection on the clipboard for pasting into Final Cut Pro.
