Parallel Minds updates Reverie Ambient Soundscape Generator to v1.15

Parallel Minds has updated Reverie, its standalone ambient soundscape generator for macOS, Windows, Linux and iPad, to version 1.15. The update adds a Source Filter and Layer Mode on every platform.

The Source Filter is a low cut and a high cut applied to the source file before it is stretched. Two handles on a frequency axis sit next to the sample region in the input card, and the cut is heard live on the source preview while they are dragged. Extreme time stretch magnifies everything it is given, so the rumble under a field recording or the hiss over a tape would otherwise end up in a thirty-minute render with the rest. The filter takes it out at the source. With both handles off, the file reaches the engine untouched.

Layer Mode plays up to three results at once. With the switch on, pressing play on a result adds it to what is already playing instead of replacing it. Each layer is levelled automatically as others come and go, so stacked takes do not clip, and a Stop all bar appears as soon as two are sounding. It is a way to hear which textures belong together, for a scene or a cue, before exporting them to a DAW.

Changes in v1.15:

  • Source Filter: a low cut and a high cut on the source file, heard live on the source preview.
  • A result keeps the cutoffs it was made with. Presets and seeds do not carry them.
  • Layer Mode: up to three results playing together, levelled automatically, with a Stop all bar.
  • macOS and iPad: two playback fixes. Two results could start at once, and a result could show as paused while still playing.
  • iPad: after a phone call or another audio interruption, only the results that were playing resume.
  • iPad: on iPadOS 27, a result with a long title no longer grows wider than its column.

The sound engine is unchanged in this release: a seed from 1.14 produces the same render in 1.15.
