Native Instruments has released Komplete 26, its flagship instrument and effects collection, adding Absynth 6, two grand piano libraries, orchestral strings, vocal samples, and vintage keyboard sounds alongside iZotope and Brainworx mixing tools. The collection spans four paid tiers from $99 to $1,949.
New additions
The headline addition is Absynth 6, a semi-modular synthesizer known for evolving, experimental tones, now newly included in the Komplete lineup. Its original creator, Brian Clevinger, will be at NI’s Superbooth booth (H130, FEZ Berlin, May 7–9) for an ALB Stage presentation on Thursday and Q&A sessions Thursday and Friday.
Further new content: Noire and Claire, sampled from rare grand pianos; Moments: Vocal Clouds, an ethereal vocal texture library; Marco Polo Drums for raw boom-bap kits; LCO Producer Strings, recorded with the London Contemporary Orchestra; the Definitive Electric Keys Collection for vintage electric keyboard sounds; and the Scene Series, a growing set of compositional tools for film and TV.
Kontakt 8 update
Kontakt reaches version 8.10.0 with this release, adding Aftertouch support so compatible keyboards can transmit polyphonic aftertouch expression into instruments that support it.
What’s already in the collection
Komplete 26 includes the existing instrument roster: Massive X, FM8, Reaktor 6, Battery 4, Guitar Rig 7 Pro, and Playbox, among others. iZotope and Brainworx mixing tools cover Ozone 12 Elements, Nectar 4 Elements, bx_console AMEK 200, FXEQ, Trash, and bx_glue.
Hardware integration runs across Kontrol keyboards, Maschine, and NKS-compatible controllers from Arturia, Akai Professional, Novation, Korg, Nektar, and M-Audio. NI also announced a forthcoming NKS update — launching first on the Akai MPK Mini MK4, arriving in the coming months — that adds better parameter mapping, deeper DAW control, and a direct connection to Kontakt.
