Alioso has released two free, self-generating instruments for Windows and macOS (VST3/AU): Jerrican, a granular synth, and Marmite, a generative drum machine. Both are now at v1.0.1, which fixes a display scaling issue reported by users on Windows and macOS.
Jerrican
Jerrican builds four voices — Bass, Ambient, Haze, and Keys — from clouds of overlapping micro-grains that keep reshaping themselves once you hit Play, rather than waiting for a note or a preset.
A global Mode control spans 21 scales, and every voice can be routed to its own DAW track.
Marmite
Marmite generates a full 8-voice drum kit from scratch on every pass — Kick, Snare, Clap, Hats, Perc, Crash, and Tom — rolling the dice on every subdivision while still holding together like a real kit.
A Wild knob shifts the whole feel from a locked-in basic beat through breakbeat and Jungle syncopation to full glitch chaos.
