Patrick Alavi has released PA.1, a multiband compressor for macOS in VST3 format, built around free routing.
PA.1 splits compression into five stages: Comp, Attack, Release, Lofi and Sidechain. The stages can be dragged into any order and patched with cables into any of five frequency bands, so the same controls can form a different compressor.
Patrick Alavi says this gives 4,026,531,840 possible circuits.
Features:
- 5 stages (COMP, ATTACK, RELEASE, LOFI, SIDECHAIN) in any order, patched per band.
- 5 phase-compensated Linkwitz-Riley bands with adjustable crossovers.
- Comp macro control for threshold and ratio, soft or hard knee.
- Sampler and Tape colour, each with its own minimum-phase impulse responses.
- Automatic Sub: reduces low-end build-up in real time when sub and low frequencies overlap.
- Loud, Mask and Upward processing per band.
- Stereo, Dual mono and M/S modes – 2×, 4× and 16× oversampling.
- Analog phase rotation, low cut, adaptive dynamics, dither.
- External sidechain input.
