ABYZOR has released ABYZOR Variations version 3.5, a major update to their music composition workflow for Windows and macOS. Variations 3.5 introduces new tools for structured musical development, MIDI history and timing control.
ABYZOR Variations 3.5 – Composition Workflow Update
- Composition Blocks: develop melodies using Call, Response, Development and Resolution sections.
- Call & Response: create structured phrases while maintaining the identity of the original musical motif.
- Block Regeneration: regenerate individual composition blocks without rebuilding the entire MIDI pattern.
- Block Lock & Undo: keep the sections you like and revert changes independently.
- Composition Permutations: use structures such as AB, ABAB, ABAC, ABCD, AABB and ACAB.
- Motivic Link: control how strongly new sections are derived from the original musical idea.
- MIDI History: save MIDI snapshots from Original, Drums, Variations and Arrangement parts.
- MIDI History Preview: preview saved MIDI with a mini piano roll and playback before restoring it.
- MIDI Restore & Export: restore previous ideas or export individual snapshots as MIDI files.
- History Filters: filter snapshots by Original, Drums, Variations, Arrangement and individual arrangement parts.
- Timing Grid: new Straight, Triplet, Mixed and Free timing modes with Auto, 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 grid divisions.
More Control Over Musical Ideas
Version 3.5 gives producers more control over how musical ideas are developed. Composition Blocks make it possible to work on individual sections of a phrase, while Call & Response helps create more structured melodic development without losing the identity of the original idea.
The new MIDI History system makes experimentation easier by keeping previous ideas available for preview, restoration and MIDI export.
The new Timing Grid also provides greater control over rhythmic generation, with different timing modes and grid resolutions available throughout the workflow.
