Reason Studios has announced the release of Reason Free, a free version of the Reason Rack that runs as a VST3, AU or AAX plugin inside compatible digital audio workstations. It brings 15 Reason instruments, effects and creative utilities directly into the DAW producers already use—with no trial, expiration or watermark.
For more than two decades, Reason’s virtual Rack has invited music makers to do something most software tries to hide: turn it around, follow the cables and discover what happens when sounds are connected in unexpected ways. Today, Reason Studios is opening that experience to everyone.
Reason Free also opens the Rack Extension marketplace to every user. Producers can further customize their Rack by choosing from hundreds of additional free and paid instruments, and effects from Reason Studios and independent developers–many available only in the Reason ecosystem–without purchasing the full Reason software.
