Unfiltered Audio Releases BattleFX – Free Multi-FX Plugin Derived from Battalion Drum Synth

Unfiltered Audio has released BattleFX, a free multi-FX plugin that extracts and expands the send and master bus processing sections from its Battalion drum synthesizer into a standalone effect.

BattleFX is organized into three sections. The first, Shatter Delay, is a rhythmic/granular delay unit featuring a Choke parameter — new to BattleFX and not present in Battalion — which chops the delay buffer at repeating intervals. A Euclidean pattern knob controls the rhythmic distribution of those chops. The second section, Headspace Reverb, carries over Battalion’s reverb engine and also includes the Choke parameter. The third is a Master Section comprising a three-band EQ, multimode distortion, and a Maximizer drawn from Battalion’s master bus processing. Each of the three sections includes independent Solo and Mute controls, and the plugin supports customizable color themes.

BattleFX marks Unfiltered Audio’s first self-distributed plugin, sold directly through the company’s own website rather than through Plugin Alliance.

The plugin is available in VST3, AU, and AAX formats for macOS (native Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows.

Pricing & Availability

BattleFX is available now at no cost. A license key is emailed after a $0 checkout at unfilteredaudio.com. Whether the plugin will remain free indefinitely has not been confirmed by the developer.
