Smart Audio Plugins has released Timbral Box, a parallel harmonic processor for mixing and mastering.
Every section works in parallel: it adds harmonics next to the signal and leaves the original untouched — the choices made in the mix, or the character of the instrument. The aim is to add presence and rebalance parts of the spectrum without losing transients and punch.
Features:
- Bass, Mid and High processors with Shape controls and two saturation modes (A / B).
- Bass frequency centres at 34, 55, 89 and 144 Hz. (Fibonacci rules here).
- Parallel compressor with Full Mix and Instruments modes, Movement and Release controls.
- Transformer stage on the sum, modelled on two 1970s transformers.
- Autogain with Analyze function; Gain Link between input and output.
- Natural / Linear phase per section; 3D control on the Mid section.
- VU calibrated to −12 dBFS.
Formats: VST3, AU, AAX (64-bit). macOS 10.15 or later (Intel and Apple Silicon native), Windows 10.
Price: $80 / €69. Launch price $56 / €48.30 until September 30, 2026. A free 14-day fully functional trial is available.
