Ravine DSP has updated Inter:State to v1.3, introducing a scene system that turns each hosted effect into a set of playable tonal states.
Inter:State is a multi-rack audio effect host for macOS and Windows. It lets users build, route, control, and recall complete third-party effects chains inside one fixed plugin workspace, with three racks supporting serial, parallel, multiband, and send-style processing.
New in v1.3, each plugin slot can now hold eight scenes containing different parameter configurations. Users can switch between them instantly, continuously morph between adjacent scenes, or launch tempo-synchronised crossfades from the active scene to any stored destination.
Scenes can be controlled from Inter:State’s macro panel, MIDI hardware, DAW automation, rhythmic modulation, or the included Inter:State[Bridge]. They are also stored with Slot, Rack, and Global presets, allowing complete scene-based setups to be recalled with the rest of a project.
Scene Morph and Crossfade interpolate automatable plugin parameters rather than mixing between audio snapshots. This allows a single plugin instance to move between substantially different configurations without reloading the effect or changing the surrounding routing.
The macro assigned to Scene Crossfade becomes an eight-button scene launcher. Inter:State[Bridge] provides the same launch controls from its expanded cross-track control surface.

Version 1.3 also adds a Slider view that places all eight macros on screen together. Signal-triggered modulation now waits for a threshold crossing, plays its curve once, then resets for the next hit. Triggers can follow the current input, global sidechain, or a selectable internal signal from Main, Rack, or Slot processing points.
The current release is Inter:State v1.3.1 with Inter:State[Bridge] v1.1.4. It also includes workflow, stability, latency-alignment, preset-browsing, AutoMap, resizing, and visualiser-performance improvements.
