Pine DSP has announced the release of Blox Exciter, a three-mode saturator plugin for macOS and Windows.
Three saturation modes are provided, with each offering a different way to distort the signal:
- Ember provides a warm overdrive;
- Reel introduces a nostalgic, magnetic tape distortion;
- Glass gives a sharp, edgy tone.
Controls:
- All modes features Air, Drive and Tilt controls:
- Air adds high energy that’s still related to the input signal through odd harmonics.
- Drive pushes the signal into the saturation stage.
- Tilt changes the balance pre-distortion between low and high frequencies.
- In Reel mode, two more controls are available:
- Hysteresis affects softness and the amount of transient blur;
- Bias adjusts asymmetry in the simulated reel.
- Output and Mix controls are available, and the plugin can be bypassed.
