Panorama Audio Labs, a company developing mastering tools for real-world mastering solutions, has released Panoramic, its debut mastering-grade stereo field plugin.
Panorama Audio Labs was founded by 2x Grammy-nominated mastering engineer Nicholas Di Lorenzo after years of developing custom processing chains, conducting sandbox experiments, and implementing unique routing systems for his mastering projects.
Some became part of his daily mastering workflow. Panorama Audio Labs is where they’re developed into plugins.
The goal is simple: build creative processors that earn their place in professional workflows by giving engineers more control, not less. Tools shaped around contemporary mastering goals, translation and respect for the mix’s integrity and clear parameter sets.
After a month of eager anticipation, audio professionals, mastering engineers, producers, and mixers can access a first in mastering-grade stereo-field processing for shaping width, density, character, and air.
Panoramic
Panoramic is designed around a four-part parallel processor designed to enhance stereo depth and energy without relying on fragile phase tricks or delay-based widening.
Surrounding the 4-core processors are advanced feature sets that allow the engineer to develop more nuanced sonic characteristics for their stereo image in mastering.
Features:
- 4-Core parallel processing modules:
- Adjust the Width of a signal in parallel [PRL] or use it as a control [SRL] for the entire stereo signal.
- Density blends in parallel compression to the side signal only to help lift low-level details in the stereo field.
- Character blends in odd-order harmonic saturation to the side signal to add weight and energy to the stereo field:
- Use Steal [STEAL] to steal mid-channel-derived harmonics and introduce them to the stereo image for additional depth.
- Blend in excited high frequencies with AIR for brilliance/presence to the overall stereo field:
- [DS] a high-frequency dynamic EQ to manage excessive highs in the stereo field. Particularly useful for splashy cymbals or sibilant vocals in a mix.
- Implement the Elliptical filter [PRE] or [POST] processing to mono the low frequencies in a mix:
- [PRE] – Prevents low frequencies impacting the width, density, character and air modules. Use this for a cleaner sound.
- [POST] – Allows low frequencies to interact with core modules before being folded into mono.
- 2x & 4x oversampling.
- GUI scaling 75-125%.
- Tooltips on Hover via [?] button.
- Linked and unlinked I/O for gain staging.
- 0-200% mix blends.
