Nextmidi Releases Divisimate 2.1 – Adds Key Split, USB Support for DivisiControl, and More

NextMIDI today announced the release of Divisimate 2.1, a free feature update to its real-time divisi orchestration software. The update introduces a Key Split functionality, USB connectivity for the iOS Remote app DivisiControl, and other new features and improvements.

After we initially released Divisimate, we followed up with multiple free feature updates based on user feedback. The Divisimate 2.1 update continues in this tradition. Each of these features was shaped directly by requests from our user community.

Key Split Functionality in Multipads

Divisimate 2.1 introduces a new Key Split option within Multipads, allowing users to divide the keyboard and play two or three orchestrations side by side, each fully independent from the others. Arpeggiators across the split zones remain synchronized, while each orchestration retains its own independent Divisi Engine and routing.

USB Support for iOS Remote App

The update adds USB connectivity for the DivisiControl remote app on iOS. Mac users can connect via USB immediately, while Windows users will need to install iTunes first to enable the connection. This addition gives performers and composers a more stable, low-latency alternative to wireless connections for remote control of Divisimate.

Transformer Plugin Improvements

The Transformer plugin now includes a toggle to switch between parallel and sequential processing of rows. Previously, all rows in the Transformer processed in parallel, making it impossible to transform a value and then apply a further transformation to the result. With sequential processing enabled, users can now chain transformations within a single plugin. Further improvements were added to the plugin, like the ability to reverse values or reordering rows by drag and drop.

Key Range Remote

Divisimate 2.1 brings the Key Range Remote to Divisimate 2, a feature originally introduced in Divisimate Core. It allows users to assign presets, scale changes, and other functions to keyswitches, enabling fast, hands-on control during composition and performance.
