MKS Mixing has released AutomatIR, a Windows VST3 plugin designed to speed up the process of auditioning cabinet impulse responses.
AutomatIR automatically cycles through the impulse responses in a selected folder, allowing guitarists, producers and mixing engineers to compare IRs without repeatedly stopping playback and manually loading files.
With DAW Sync enabled, IR changes can follow the host tempo so that each response is auditioned for a consistent musical duration. DAW Sync can also be disabled for a free-running workflow, allowing guitarists to play normally while AutomatIR continues changing IRs without relying on DAW transport.
The plugin is intended to work alongside amp simulators, NAM captures and other guitar-processing tools, using the user’s existing cabinet IR collection rather than providing or replacing it.
Features include:
- Automatic cycling through cabinet IRs in a selected folder.
- Tempo-synchronised IR changes.
- Free-running IR auditioning without DAW transport.
- Adjustable IR switching intervals.
- Manual previous/next IR navigation.
- Folder-based IR browsing.
- Preset support for saving and recalling auditioning setups.
- Support for standard WAV cabinet impulse responses.
- Designed to work alongside amp simulators, NAM captures and other guitar-processing tools.
- AutomatIR is available as a 64-bit VST3 plugin for Windows.

The regular price is $14.99 USD. To mark the launch, MKS Mixing is offering 20% off with the code AIRLAUNCH through September 14, 2026. After the launch offer ends, AutomatIR will return to its regular $14.99 price and will not go on sale again.
