Kirin Mastering has released Kirin Hypha 1.1.33, a free, open-source PRE / POST measurement plug-in for macOS and Windows.
Place PRE before a DAW processing chain and POST after it. PRE shows LUFS-M, recent True Peak and Crest Factor at the input. POST shows the difference across the pair. Up to 12 pairs can run in one project.
Watch mode works without Kirin OS, an account or a cloud connection. With a Kirin OS license, Record mode adds PSR, N (Zwicker loudness, ISO 532-1), Sharpness (DIN 45692) and the session’s maximum True Peak. A playback or bounce can be kept as one PRE / POST record.
The published True Peak self-check uses five reference signals. The largest observed error was 0.060 dB, and all five were within ±0.100 dBTP. The test command, source commit, expected values and results are public. This is Kirin Mastering’s own test, not a third-party certification.
In a typical session, the DAW CPU meter reads about 0–1%. The figure varies with the DAW, sample rate, buffer size and number of active pairs.
Kirin Hypha is available for macOS 12 or later as VST3 and Audio Unit (Apple Silicon and Intel), and for Windows 10/11 as VST3. It is released under GPLv3.
