inMusic has announced an agreement to acquire Native Instruments, bringing together one of the music hardware industry’s largest portfolios with a software catalog that spans sampling, DJing, mastering, and mixing tools.
The deal includes all brands under the Native Instruments umbrella: Kontakt, Traktor, iZotope, Plugin Alliance, and Brainworx. Native Instruments reports a registered user base of over 25 million.
The two companies have an existing commercial relationship. In 2025, they announced NKS integration for Akai Pro’s MPK controllers and M-Audio’s Oxygen controllers, alongside access to Native Instruments sounds on the MPC standalone platform.
Native Instruments represents everything we look for in a partner: exceptional products, a deeply engaged community, and a clear point of view on what musicians want. Our work together has already shown how strong this combination can be.
Jack O’Donnell, CEO of inMusic.
Nick Williams, CEO of Native Instruments, added:
With inMusic we have found a partner whose beliefs and ambitions align with ours — and whose understanding of what these brands mean to musicians and producers gives us real confidence in what comes next.
Both companies state that all products, services, platforms, and customer support remain fully available during the transition. The transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks, subject to standard closing conditions.
Further detail on integration plans has not yet been disclosed. A full statement from Nick Williams is available at blog.native-instruments.com.
