discoDSP has added ThrillMe Classic to the FX Bundle, brings arpeggiator modes from the latest TEO-5 firmware and MPE to TED-8, a Nord Lead 1 core and an effect chain in Retromulator, and Nord Lead style wide unison in Discovery Pro.
FX Bundle 3.15: ThrillMe Classic
ThrillMe Classic joins the FX Bundle next to ThrillMe 3. It is the 2002 ThrillMe tube compressor rebuilt from its original DSP, with a new 3D panel based on the original design.
What’s New:
- Original Signal Chain: Exciter EQ, three-band compressor with fixed attack and release per band, peak limiter and tube saturation, recovered from the original binary.
- Tube Stage: 8x oversampling in realtime and 16x linear-phase when bouncing offline.
- True-Peak Limiter: A lookahead limiter at -0.3 dBTP after the tube stage keeps the output below full scale.
- Release Modes: Classic, with the original fixed times, or SSL-style Auto release.
- Input and Mix: Shift-drag or right-drag the two small knobs. Every control takes MIDI learn.
- Panel: Rendered at 4x resolution, resizable from 100% to 200%.
- Formats: AU, VST, VST3, AAX and standalone on macOS and Windows; VST, VST3 and standalone on Linux.

TED-8 1.4.5
TED-8 is the Oberheim TEO-5 as a plugin, built from thousands of measurements of a real unit. Versions 1.2 to 1.4.5 add the new TEO-5 arpeggiator modes, MPE and microtuning, and faster modulation editing.
What’s New:
- Arpeggiator: The modes from TEO-5 OS 1.2: Pinky Up and Down, Thumb Up and Down, Spiral, Leapfrog, Shuffle, Shuffle Once, Rand Walk and Chord.
- Modulation: Every modulatable control has a Mod Matrix submenu. Knobs moved by a matrix slot, an LFO or Env 1 show the modulated value as a green ring, and Alt + drag on the knob sets the slot amount.
- MIDI: MPE, MTS-ESP and the 65 scales of the TEO-5, a Low Split with a note picker, a separate MIDI Out channel, Pot Mode, Program Send and Receive, and MIDI-learnable SEQ PLAY and SEQ RECORD.
- Section Presets: Presets for the mod matrix, both LFOs, the arpeggiator, the effect and the reverb, tuned from the TEO-5 factory banks.
- X-Mod: 4x oscillators for X-Mod in realtime, and X-Mod above 32 follows the TEO-5.
- Browsing: Presets listed by category on the LCD, optional – and + buttons for program stepping, and Page Up and Page Down to step programs from NKS preset macros in Komplete Kontrol.
- Fixes: OB-Xd imports with sync or X-Mod play as intended, the sequencer keeps the first step when the host loop wraps, and fractional scaling works on Linux.

Retromulator 2.1
Retromulator runs classic hardware synthesizers from their original firmware or circuit models. Version 2.1 adds the Nordic core and a chain of VST3 effects after any core.

What’s New:
- Nordic: The original 1995 Nord Lead on a clean room C++ reimplementation of its DSP program, bit exact to the original and checked against a real Nord Lead 1, so no ROM is needed. 48 voices, unison, morph, arpeggiator and all four slots A-D, with its own editor below the rack. Nord Lead 2 programs can be imported and exported.
- FX Chain: VST3 effects in series after any core, or on the audio input with the None core, with chain presets saved in the session. Plugins are scanned in a separate process, so one that hangs or crashes is left out instead of taking the DAW down.
- Built-In Effects: ThrillMe Mastering Compressor and Schroeder Reverb, each with its own board.
- Backup: App data can be restored from a .zip URL as well as a file.
- NKS: Page Up and Page Down step to the previous and next preset.
- Fixes: No more DX7 crackles, Pro Tools hangs while writing automation in Touch mode, or Virus, microQ and Nord Lead 2X crashes on Linux. Loading a project no longer reboots the running core, board controls show the saved values, and Nord N2X performance banks play.

Discovery Pro 9.8
Discovery Pro is a 4 layer virtual analog synthesizer and sampler. Version 9.8 adds wide unison and brings Super 7 and the Retro Cell 2 engine closer to the hardware.

What’s New:
- Wide Unison: The rotating unison detune of the Nord Lead 1 and 2X, set per bank and shown as a WIDE pill in the Unison Editor. New banks have it on, older banks load with it off.
- Super 7: Follows measurements of the JP, with a bank-wide Mix control in the Super 7 editor, a pitch-tracked high-pass filter and the measured detune offsets.
- Retro Cell 2: Follows the Nord Lead 2X behavior: oscillators, FM depth, sync, noise, envelope curves and times, LFO rates and shapes, and the filter envelope.
- Arpeggiator MIDI Out: Arpeggiator notes are sent to the DAW, layers A-D on channels 1-4, so the host can record them.
- Fixes: Right-click on a button no longer also clicks it on Windows.
