Autodafe has released Vintage Emulator Studio (VES) v0.9.289.1, the first maintenance update to the recently released MAME-based virtual instrument environment.
The new version focuses mainly on MIDI handling, ROM diagnostics, CPU usage and a number of fixes reported after the initial release.
New in v0.9.289.1:
- Improved MIDI and SysEx handling across several machines.
- Fixed Pitch Bend and Modulation support where previously unavailable or incomplete.
- Improved ROM detection and diagnostics, with clearer feedback when ROMs are missing, incorrect or incomplete.
- Added new UI rendering options to reduce redraw activity and CPU usage.
- Added the possibility to keep the emulated display static or hide it when not needed.
- Improved overall performance in a number of situations.
- Fixed several machine-specific MIDI and initialization issues.
- General stability improvements and minor bug fixes.
- Various UI and workflow refinements.
Because VES does not currently use an automatic updater, existing users need to download the new version again from their Autodafe account.
Users who have not downloaded VES before can get it from: autodafe.net/vintage-emulator-studio.html
VES is available for macOS, Windows and Linux, both as a standalone application and in plugin formats, and requires users to provide their own ROMs.
