APU Software has released APU Harmonic DJ, a standalone application for analyzing local music libraries and planning harmonic DJ sets.
Harmonic DJ analyzes BPM, loudness, and harmonic content for each track. It retains separate key evidence for the first and second halves of a track and distinguishes Ionian, Dorian, Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, and Aeolian. The Library supports searching, filtering, grouping, ratings, and local auditioning.
Users can generate tracklists with selected tempo behavior, key scope, and transition rules. Individual positions can be locked, unsuitable tracks can be excluded, and open positions can be regenerated without replacing the parts that already work. Gem Finder supports closer work on individual transitions, including candidate auditioning and reusable directed Gems.
Harmonic DJ analyzes and auditions audio locally. It does not generate beat grids, cue points, phrase alignment, or processed transitions. Optional public Mix pages contain tracklist and planning information without uploading the associated audio. Version 1.0.1 can link a published Mix to an externally hosted recording on SoundCloud, Mixcloud, or YouTube.
The free Community edition includes the same analyzer, Library features, and editable tracklist previews of up to five tracks. Pro adds larger saved Mixes, exact track counts above five, persistent editing history, Gem Finder, and saved Gems. A Pro trial is available without a payment card.
