Algoriffix Releases Transkr V4 – MusicXML Export and Saxophone Support

Algoriffix has released Transkr V4, a major update to its audio-to-MIDI plug-in and standalone application for guitar, bass, voice, piano, violin-family instruments and saxophone. Transkr converts performances to MIDI in real time as they are played, and can also transcribe existing recordings.

Rather than treating the input as generic audio, Transkr models the instrument being played. For guitar and bass, this allows it to resolve pitches that can be played at several positions on the neck, while working from an ordinary audio signal without requiring a hexaphonic pickup.

Transkr has always been about making music software respond to the way musicians actually play. With V4, we reworked the transcription engine and expanded what Transkr can understand and produce. Musicians should be able to play naturally, then turn what they played into something they can edit and develop further.
