Kengo Ichiki has released version 1.1.0 of わおん — Music Transcriber, an audio-to-MIDI and MusicXML application for iPhone, iPad and Mac.
The update adds a keyboard along the left edge of the spectrum. Users can select a pitch range and delete multiple detected notes within the visible time range, helping them remove unwanted detections before export.
Other changes include:
- Smoother spectrum zooming and improved playhead alignment.
- A consistent pitch display from A0 to C8.
- Revised editing layouts with more spectrum space on iPhone and in iPad landscape.
- Fixes for playhead and time-display updates during loop playback.
- Reduced volume for high-pitched reference tones.
- In-app Help with access to feedback and App Store ratings.
わおん displays the waveform, spectrogram and editable notes on a synchronized timeline. Users can listen, correct the transcription and export MIDI or MusicXML. Audio analysis takes place on the device, with no account or audio upload required.
Pricing and Availability
The app is free to download, with analysis, editing and export available for the first 30 seconds of a recording. Full Unlock removes the duration restriction for a one-time US$34.99 in-app purchase covering iPhone, iPad and Mac through Universal Purchase. Regional prices vary; there is no subscription.
Version 1.1.0 is available now. Requirements are iOS/iPadOS 16.0+ or macOS 14.0+. The interface is in English. The app is not currently available in the European Union.
