Fracture Sounds has released Blueprint: Textural Sax, a free preview from its library Trails II, offering composers, producers and sound designers a hands-on taste of its cinematic, textural sound design tools.
Blueprint: Textural Sax features a resonant, textural saxophone performance recorded against a large thunder sheet and captured through multiple microphone techniques — including contact mics attached directly to the sheet itself.
This free instrument includes:
- A summed mix of the three microphone positions available in the full Trails II library.
- One of the library’s Atmosphere Layers.
- The full set of sound-shaping controls found in Trails II, including lo-fi, delay, and reverb.
To accompany the release, composer Ruben Camacho has put together a video walkthrough of the library, explaining its design and features, and demonstrating a track built using Textural Sax alongside other elements from Trails II.
