Hell Yes Loop Lab Releases Ears and Ears – Standalone Mix and Master Comparison App

Hell Yes Loop Lab has released Ears and Ears, a standalone application for macOS and Windows designed for comparing mixes, masters and reference tracks without the loudness illusion.

Ears and Ears lets users load up to eight audio files and switch between them instantly. Its Fair Compare mode matches playback to the quietest loaded file by turning louder files down rather than boosting quieter files. This makes it easier to judge tonal balance, dynamics, punch and detail without automatically favoring the louder version.

The app also includes LUFS and True Peak readouts, Listen Mode with streaming loudness previews, a Focus Loop for repeating the same musical section across different versions, waveform navigation and Find Hot Spot for locating the loudest section. Users can mark their preferred version with The One.

Ears and Ears does not master, limit, normalize, export or modify the original audio files. It is designed as a focused listening and decision-making tool.
