2B Played Music has announced the release of 2B Shaped 2, a new multi-effect plugin featuring 17 creative effect modules, drawable motion shapes, dynamic modulation and advanced sidechain control.
2B Shaped 2 combines Volume, Filter, Pan, Delay, Reverb, Flanger, Pitch, Crusher, Phaser, Distortion, Noise, Scrub, Resonator, RingShift, Unison/Wide, Formant and Compressor/Expander in a flexible effect rack. Modules can be combined and rearranged to create everything from subtle movement to complex rhythmic effects and experimental sound design.
At the centre of the plugin is a visual shape editor with custom curves, steps, editable nodes and musical timing controls. Each effect includes adjustable frequency-band processing, while React adds dynamic modulation driven by incoming audio or an external sidechain. MIDI triggering, reusable shape libraries and complete plugin banks provide additional creative flexibility.
They say:
2B Shaped 2 was designed to bring an entire creative effects environment into one plugin, giving producers the freedom to combine effects, draw custom movements and explore new ways of transforming sound.
Instead of working with fixed effect settings, users can create their own motion shapes and control how individual parameters evolve over time. Each of the 17 modules has its own processing engine and dedicated controls, while the flexible rack allows effects to be combined in any order.
A notable addition is direct musical note editing inside the shape editor. Users can click directly on node and bend labels to select exact musical notes, making it possible to create precisely tuned pitch sequences, melodic movements and musical modulation patterns.
React introduces another level of creative control by allowing effect parameters to respond dynamically to incoming audio or external sidechain signals. Combined with individual frequency-band processing, MIDI triggering and DAW synchronization, this opens up possibilities for rhythmic modulation, evolving textures and interactive sound design.
The idea behind 2B Shaped 2 is simple: give producers the tools to create something unique, whether that’s a subtle mixing enhancement, a rhythmic effect or a completely transformed sound.
