gabber eleganza dance

This week’s top mixes include Blawan’s Radio 1 Essential Mix, Gabber Eleganza’s Gabbereality and Sharda’s Future-Proof Joyride.

Gabber Eleganza’s Gabbereality. Many years before gabber’s recent rediscovery, Italian DJ and producer Alberto Guerrini aka Gabber Eleganza founded an online archive for the Dutch hardcore techno style. Following his appearance at Hyperreality in Vienna last weekend, he has dropped an hour of experimental electronic gabber sounds. Stream above.

Blawan’s Radio 1 Essential Mix. The Yorkshire-born and Berlin-based techno producer, known for his records for R&S, Hinge Finger and Black Sun, selects industrial-grade techno tracks from his new LP Wet Will Always Dry (out soon on his Ternesc imprint) plus tracks from Paleman, Ron S, Joy O and Mark Broom. Stream and track listing here.

Kamaal Williams’s Dekmantel Podcast. Keys player Kamaal Williams made visionary jazz as part of Yussef Kamaal and makes soul-infused broken beats and house as Henry Wu on labels like MCDE and Eglo. He serves an hour mix of “high speed jazz funk to languid, worldly jazz via transcendental guitars and summery soul” for the Dekmantel podcast. Stream and download above.

Nils Krogh’s Darker and Dreamy Alias. Nils Krogh of Genius Time explains his Melbourne Deepcast as his alias Arkajo: “I wanted to do something exclusive, so basically this is a mix with mostly unreleased tracks and remixes. I recorded this with the gear in my studio and multitracks from my songs. I recorded it on to my Studer A80 master recorder to add a bit of dusty noise and stuff.” Stream and download above.

Sharda’s Future-Proof Joyride. Sharda’s hyperactive speed garage and bassline style has wowed dancefloors since it first emerged in Murlo’s DJ sets, and his debut EP Sharda, recently released via Coil Records, showcases the style’s progression with jungle and UKG influences. Sharda’s Crack mix selects from Strictly Dubz, Mind Of A Dragon, Deadboy, Murlo and more. Stream above, track listing here.
