FRCTL Audio Releases GRNi Lite – Free Granular Sampler (VST3, AU & CLAP)

By sampler  On

FRCTL Audio has released GRNi Lite, a free version of its GRNi granular sampler.

Drop a sample on the waveform, set the note it’s in, and play it on the keys. Every note you hold grows its own cloud of grains from the recording.

There are three controls:

  1. ROOT tunes the keyboard to the sample.
  2. SIZE sets how long each grain is, from grainy and glitchy to smooth pads.
  3. DENSITY sets how many grains play, from a sparse crackle to a solid cloud.

A selection drawn on the waveform picks which part of the sample the grains come from.

Pricing and Availability

GRNi Lite is free, with no serial and no time limit. It runs as VST3 and CLAP on Windows, macOS and Linux, plus AU on macOS. The full GRNi, with a second sample layer, scale modes, modulation and effects, is $44.99 with a 14-day free trial.
