FeelYourSound has released version 1.2.0 of its free MIDI generator plug-in SongEngine (VST + AU).
SongEngine automatically turns any chord progression into new arpeggios, basslines, and complex piano phrases.
If you don’t have your own chord progressions yet, you can use one of the included chord progression generators. You can also explore chords by ear with the built-in chord progression builder.
SongEngine is suitable for all genres, and it comes with a big list of presets for all occasions.
New in SongEngine 1.2.0:
- “Convert MIDI files to Chord Pad Collections” (Chords Page -> “More”-button at the bottom right). Convert an entire folder (+ all direct subfolders) of MIDI chord progressions to Chord Pad Collections. The resulting files will be available in the “Own” folder of the Pad Source menu. To define the scale of a progression, add it in brackets at the end of the filename. For example, “test (C).mid” is interpreted as C major, while “test (Am).mid” is treated as A minor.
- UX: “Create new Chord Progression” dialog remembers your choices now.
- UX: Press ESC to stop Chord Pad drags.
- UX: Use up and down arrow keys on the “Packages” page to switch between presets.
- Bugfix: The search area didn’t display the correct number of found presets.
The plug-in is available for free at feelyoursound.com/songengine
