Applied Acoustics Systems has announced the official release of a new version of its free AAS Player for macOS and Windows.
The AAS Player is a dedicated player for AAS’s sound packs. It brings together the sound engines of AAS’s instruments—Chromaphone 3, Strum GS-2, Ultra Analog VA-3, String Studio VS-3, Lounge Lizard EP-5, and Multiphonics CV-3—with a streamlined performance interface featuring carefully selected controls for expressive sound shaping.
At the heart of the AAS Player lies a vast collection of curated sound packs created by some of the world’s leading sound designers. Together, these collections form an evolving sonic library of thousands of carefully crafted presets, united by the signature AAS sound—rich, responsive, and uniquely expressive.

The AAS Player has always been a popular way to explore our Sound Pack Series but, as the collection of packs grew, we felt it had become too limited.This has now completely changed with the addition of a comprehensive preset browser. We’ve also added a Play view with key macro controls for each of the synthesis engines embedded in the AAS Player, allowing users to tweak sounds and explore their full depth. With an interface focused on essential parameters and efficient browsing, the AAS Player creates an inspiring, distraction-free musical environment where users can dive into an exceptionally rich sound library, explore ideas, and simply have fun making music.
