Immanent Audio has announced the release of the IA De-Esser, a free de-essing and resonance suppression plugin (AU/VST3, macOS/Windows) that makes it easy to tame sibilance and harshness across the spectrum.
IA De-Esser has 4 filter slots, each one with 4 modes for resonance suppression:
- De-Ess Mode: Enable this mode, and the slot will find and tame sibilance automatically.
- Auto Mode: Lock in your Low-Cut and Hi-Cut, and let the plugin intelligently choose your depth and Q for appropriate harshness taming.
- Smart Mode: The plugin hunts for any part of the spectrum that needs taming, and sends your current slot there to handle it.
- Manual Mode: A fully manual setup for the user to hand-pick all parameters to surgically fit their particular track.
