VGTrumpet has updated VG Wind Ensemble to version 2.1, a significant update to its expandable virtual wind instrument platform, available as a VST/AU plugin and standalone app for Windows and Mac.
What’s new in version 2.1:
- Morph Mixer: blend up to three instrument layers in real time using any MIDI CC; crossfade between instruments and map the blend to breath pressure, mod wheel, or any controller.
- New effects: Portamento, Chorus, Phaser, Filter, and LFO-based Modulation: all assignable to MIDI CC for real-time expressive control.
- Quick Load Browser: navigate and switch instruments from the sound collection without leaving the performance view.
- Save Session: stores complete instrument state (loaded sounds, volumes, pans, effects) and restores it on relaunch.
- VG EVI Keys: built-in keyboard module for trumpet and brass players using traditional three-valve fingering on a MIDI keyboard.
- Core (free) edition now includes four sound sets: Flute Ethnic Neo, Syn Brass Corvella, Syn Digi Surface, and Syn Phase Motion.
- Two new sound packs added to the VG Sound Collection: Synth Pack 01 (10 synthesizer voices) and OD Guitars Pack 01 (6 overdrive electric guitar voices), $44 each.
