United Plugins has announced the release of TrapTune Core, a lightweight version of their automatic vocal tuner, TrapTune. The plugin joins the United Free Bundle collection and focuses strictly on pitch correction, omitting several features from the full version to provide a lower CPU footprint.
Core Architecture and Features
TrapTune Core retains the principal Tune-In engine found in the original software. It provides access to natural pitch correction, hard-tuning vocal styles, formant shifting, voice transposing, and scale selection.
To streamline the interface and improve processing efficiency, the following modules from the full version of TrapTune have been excluded:
- Second Voice: The unison harmony and stereo doubler controls.
- Distortion: The vocal saturation and overdrive section.
- Space and Time Effects: The built-in delay and plate reverb processors.
Licensing and the United Free Bundle
TrapTune Core is distributed as a free download. The software has no time limits, structural restrictions, or audio dropouts, but it does display a small promotional banner at the bottom of the user interface.
Note for Existing License Holders: Users who already own the premium United Free Bundle license will find the ad-free version of TrapTune Core automatically credited to their accounts. Additionally, those who own the full version of TrapTune can install and use TrapTune Core directly, as the full license unlocks the Core version and removes the advertisements automatically.
Bundle Expansion
The addition of TrapTune Core brings the total number of tools in the UnitedFree Bundle to eleven. The complete list of free, ad-supported plugins now includes:

TrapTune Core is available immediately for macOS and Windows, supporting VST, AAX, and AU formats via the United Plugins Manager.
The software is free to use with ads. Users who prefer to remove the advertisement banner can purchase an ad-removing license. The regular price for this license is €19, but it is available for an introductory launch price of €7.
