Snorkel Audio has released Little Duck, a free tempo-synced ducker for Mac and Windows, with iPad coming very soon.
We just wanted a simple ducker of our own – and once we had the duck, we figured we’d share it. Free. Rather than routing in a sidechain signal from another track, Little Duck locks to your host tempo and ducks your track to the beat. It offers five rates from 1/1 to 1/16, with 1/4 as the four-on-the-floor feel, along with Depth, Attack, Release and Shape controls for anything from a gentle breath to a hard, classic pumping scoop.
A live curve display with a cycle-synced scope shows what is playing and what is being ducked, so you can see the effect as you shape.
