Peter Semiletov updates Drumlabooh to v13.0 for Windows and Linux

Peter Semiletov has updated Drumlabooh, the free and open-source drum machine plugin for Linux and Windows (VST3 and LV2 formats), to version 13.0.0.

The update introduces Diskach, a nostalgia-driven drumkit inspired by 1990s dance music featuring 7 instrument categories with 128 sample variations each. The kit utilizes the new version 1.1 of the Drumlabooh kit specification, which adds support for directory-based sample loading.

Key features and updates in v13.0.0:

  • Diskach Drumkit & Spec 1.1 Support: Includes a large 90s-inspired drumkit and adds format v1.1 features.
  • Enhanced SFZ Handling: Scans SFZ drumkits for unsupported opcodes prior to loading, safely skipping incompatible “horizontal” layer kits to prevent DAW crashes while maintaining full support for “vertical” velocity-layered kits (e.g., AVL).
  • Hydrogen Compatibility Guard: Explicitly blocks loading of the Audiophob Hydrogen kit to avoid a crash caused by an improperly formatted audio file within the JUCE framework.
  • Streamlined Sample Processing: Returns to single-channel (left channel) reading for stereo input files before converting to internal mono storage.
  • Native Kit Refinements: Extensively cleaned up native drumkits with trimmed silence/low-level tails, manually added fades to prevent clicks, and updated artwork. Sound balance and existing mixes remain unaffected.
