Parish Audio has released X1 Exciter, a frequency-focused harmonic enhancement plugin designed to add clarity, presence, articulation, pop, and high-frequency detail to individual tracks and full mixes.
Rather than simply boosting an existing frequency range, X1 generates new harmonic content from the original signal and blends it back into the sound. This can help vocals come forward, give drums more snap, add definition to guitars and keyboards, improve bass translation, or bring additional openness and sizzle to a darker mix.
Users can select the center frequency and width of the area feeding the harmonic processor. Drive controls the intensity of the generated harmonics, while Amount determines how much enhancement is added back to the signal. The Character control moves between a smoother, warmer response and a firmer, more aggressive harmonic sound.
The interface includes a real-time spectrum display showing the selected source region and the harmonic content generated from it. Frequency and Width can also be adjusted directly from the display.
Additional features include:
- Mix and output controls.
- 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x oversampling.
- Factory and user presets.
- Fully resizable interface.
