Output and Spitfire Audio Join Forces to Release ‘Overture’ Arcade Line

Spitfire Audio Output Overture

Overture is free for Output Arcade users and contains 30 kits, ranging from orchestral textures to modern film score elements.

Output and Spitfire Audio have both been active in 2020. The former has grown steadily to make Arcade one of the one-stop-shops for sample-based producing, using a subscription business model similar to that of Splice. Spitfire Audio has also kept busy, launching their NEO modern cinematics library at NAMM 2020 and then releasing a free compact version of their BBC Symphony Orchestra in May.

The new collaboration between the two companies was kept under wraps until Output debuted the project this week.

Spitfire Audio Output Overture

Overture is a cinematic Arcade Line that sees Spitfire Audio’s high-quality recordings transformed into multiple Arcade kits. The library is suitable for both the beat lab and the big screen, with a wide variety of orchestral sounds and textures spread across the different kits. These sounds—paired with Arcade’s interface and dynamic proprietary modifiers—will likely offer users a number of possibilities for creativity and performance.

“Spitfire has mastered the art of orchestral samples, and the kits in Overture reflect the same amazing quality you’d get in one of their libraries”, said Output CEO Gregg Lehrman. “And with the Arcade engine, you can take those samples and mangle them into something completely new.”

The 30 kits included in Overture range from orchestral textures to modern film score elements, and are delivered directly within the Arcade plugin, with audio that locks to tempo and pitch.

“Output and Spitfire have always shared a mutual respect, and we can’t wait to see what Arcade users do with our sounds”, said Spitfire Audio co-founder Christian Henson.

Overture is free for Arcade users and a 30-day free trial for Arcade is available on the Output website.
