Noisebud has released Hmmm, a mastering-focused plugin designed for precise low-frequency shaping.
Hmmm automatically tracks the dominant low-frequency peak in a mix and allows processing of the fundamental and its harmonics as a single, connected system. Instead of manually selecting EQ frequencies, the plugin continuously follows what actually defines the weight of the mix.
The detected fundamental is used to derive the first and second harmonics, ensuring that all processing stays musically related to the same low-frequency structure. This makes it possible to adjust balance, weight, and harmonic content without affecting unrelated parts of the spectrum.
Hmmm is designed for small, deliberate adjustments rather than broad tonal shaping. It can be used as a corrective tool for low-frequency balance issues, but is equally suited for creative decisions where the goal is to shape how the bass feels in a finished mix rather than fix an obvious problem.
