MusicDevelopments has released RapidComposer v6.1, a major update focused on workflow, usability, and faster composition.
What’s new in version 6.1:
This update focuses on making composition faster and more intuitive, especially when working with MIDI and audio:
- New UI rendering engine
- Smoother resizing, improved drag-and-drop, and enhanced text editing.
- Drag & Drop improvements
- New Drag Composition button (top-right).
- Drag as MIDI or audio (Ctrl-click to render, then Ctrl-drag).
- Tracks now have dedicated Drag buttons.
- No more Ctrl-dragging the file button or track title.
- Improved audio export
- New formats: WAV/AIFF 24-bit & 32-bit, floating point.
- Unified export menu with more options.

- Enter chord names directly by double-clicking.

- More quantized trigger options.
- Neural Phrase Engine improvements
- New Creativity slider for quick control.
- Restore defaults for creativity settings.
- Usability improvements
- Reorganized Variations menu (with classic option).
- New timecode formats (‘bars.beats.16ths’ and ‘beats.16ths’), customizable font size and color.
