Minimal Instruments has updated nagi plugin builder to version 0.15.7. The new version strengthens the licence protection for plugins you sell, and makes MIDI drag-out, the core feature for MIDI-generating plugins, work on every operating system.
Highlights
- AU format can now be generated. nagi now builds AU plugins properly.
- Stronger licence protection for plugins you sell.
- The Form / License widget (a Pro feature), which limits a plugin to its buyers, gains a new activation method based on Ed25519 digital signatures. A ready-made activation server is available too: “nagi License Server (Google Apps Script edition) “, which keeps the buyer ledger in a Google spreadsheet.
MIDI drag-out on every OS
The MIDI Out widget lets you drag the chords or phrases a plugin generates onto a DAW track as a MIDI file. It is the key feature for “MIDI-making” plugins such as chord-progression generators and arpeggiators, but until now it only worked in Windows plugins. The 0.15 series adds Linux and macOS, so it now works on all three.
Other improvements:
- The LP / HP / BP / NT buttons on the Filter widget now switch the actual filter type, not just the curve on screen.
- A Text widget showing a value now honours a setting of 0 decimal places.
- On Linux, restyled select boxes no longer appear blank, and their option lists now open.
- On Linux machines whose CPU lacks AVX2, the window no longer turns blank white.
- Updates are free and installed from My Page in the app. The Form / License widget and the MCP server are Pro features.
