Kuusoutoshi Audio releases DrumUnveil – split a drum loop into six lanes of audio and MIDI (VST3 & AU)

Kuusoutoshi Audio, an independent developer from Japan, has released DrumUnveil, a drum separation and drum-to-MIDI plugin for Windows and macOS.

Drop a stereo drum loop or drum stem onto DrumUnveil and it splits the material into six lanes – kick, snare, toms, hi-hat, ride and crash – while turning detected hits into MIDI notes with velocity. The separated audio and MIDI can be dragged directly into your DAW.

Key features:

  • Six-lane drum separation: kick, snare, toms, hi-hat, ride and crash.
  • Every detected hit becomes a MIDI note with velocity.
  • Per-lane Sensitivity and Gate controls to decide what counts as a hit.
  • Swing control (0-100%) lets you preserve the original groove or tighten the timing to the grid. Swing can be adjusted per region, per lane, or globally.
  • Instrument mapping for GM, Addictive Drums 2 and Toontrack (EZdrummer / Superior Drummer), with support for building and saving your own maps.
  • Edit before you export: add and delete notes and change their velocity directly on the waveform. Hand-placed notes are marked so you can distinguish them, and undo/redo covers both parameter adjustments and edits.
  • Audition the MIDI, the separated audio or both, with an optional click. Volume, mute and solo per lane, plus pan in Both mode.
  • Export all six lanes of audio and MIDI in one drag, one lane at a time, or as a mix of audio and MIDI selected per lane. Exported audio carries its tempo information.

DrumUnveil processes loops dropped onto its window rather than in real time. It is not an ARA plugin.

Pricing and availability

DrumUnveil is available as VST3 and standalone on Windows, and VST3, AU and standalone on macOS. The launch price is $49 until November 30, 2026, after which the regular price will be $69. It is a one-time purchase, with one licence covering two computers.

You can try DrumUnveil on your own loops before buying. Without a licence key, DrumUnveil can export kick and snare MIDI with no time limit, while separation, detection, adjustment, editing and audition work the same way. A licence unlocks export of separated audio and MIDI for all six lanes.
