GSi has released Piano Studio, a new physical modeling grand piano virtual instrument.
This new plugin recreates the sound of a generic 9-foot grand piano using primarily complex real-time mathematical calculations and only a few samples for noise and other minor details. Parameters include string damping, detuning, resonance, and more, allowing the sound to be manipulated in a variety of ways to achieve different nuances of grand piano sound. Virtual microphones, preamps, and a small selection of virtual environments round out the parameter set for recreating the perfect piano recording.
