Fine Increments releases Wavefield – Wavetable-based Spectral Filter

Fine Increments has released Wavefield, a spectral filter plugin that uses wavetables as filter curves. Each frame of the wavetable maps directly to a spectral gain curve, allowing the filter shape to animate in real time as the wavetable position moves.

Wavefield includes three processing modes: Magnitude (direct FFT gain shaping), Spectral IR (convolution from wavetable frames as impulse responses), and Phase Warp (frequency-dependent phase rotation with harmonic dispersion). Wavetable position can be modulated via free-running LFO, host tempo sync, a step sequencer with per-step gating, or controlled/automated manually. A built-in wavetable editor supports up to 20 keyframes per cycle with smooth interpolation between them.

A proprietary stereo mode offsets the L and R channels to different wavetable positions simultaneously, creating frequency-dependent stereo width that evolves with filter movement and is mono compatible.

Additional controls include Skew (frequency mapping warp), Floor (minimum bin gain), Safe Bass (low-frequency bypass threshold), Smooth (Gibbs artifact reduction), and a chain offset knob for upstream PDC in DAWs that don’t handle insert chain latency compensation automatically.

Price: $49 – Introductory price: $39 through June 13, 2026.
